Guimarães promotes local housing for artists and visitors
On the last 22nd of November occurred at Palácio Vila Flor, the presentation of the Housing Grant “Living Guimarães 2012”. In a joint initiative of the European Capital of Culture and the Municipality of Guimarães, the purpose of the Housing Grant lies in the reception of persons who will live in Guimarães in next year.
With the motto "Living in Guimarães 2012", the presentation of this project was made by Paulo Cruz, executive director of Guimarães 2012, and Amadeu Portilha, Councillor of Tourism of the Municipality of Guimarães.
The project aims turn the visitors and agents artistic in neighbors and temporary residents. This initiative will inject value in the economic fabric. A gathering of artists and residents in a familiar environment which is an emotional bond with the resident population.
