Os Lugares de Guimarães
The main objective of “Places in Guimarães” is to disseminate new stories, peoples and cultures. This tourism programme thereby aims to complement the city’s existing offer.
From May to September, every Sunday afternoon, this programme will visit 69 Places in Guimarães, enabling privileged contact with local residents.
Each tour will be very different since it is associated to the unique heritage of each parish. For example, a tour may involve a local festivity, an environmental or heritage itinerary, or a visit to the workshop of a local artisan, to a typical local restaurant or the house of someone who has a special story to tell.
Your visit to Guimarães in 2012, will enable you to learn from the past, intensely celebrate and experience the present, bring fresh enthusiasm to the city and region, reinforce the sense of belonging and civic participation and value local memories and resources, in a path towards stabilisation of an authentic, diverse, welcoming and unique city.
