An European Capital of Culture does not take place in an abstract space. It succeeds in a city which is a complex organism, living and multicellular.

Guimarães expires culture through many pores. One of those pores is the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Guimarães, that has conquered a referential position with the population for its International Festival of Iberian Organ in just three editions. With its inclusion in the programme of Guimarães 2012, the number of concerts during the year goes from seven to twelve, one for each of the European Capital of Culture’s months.
