The House of Memory aspires to be an anchor for the History and Culture of Guimarães from its historical, social, cultural, economic and existing perspective. It will be a place for residents to meet, share and reflect on their roots, traditions and memories.

For visitors it will be a place to experience and immerse themselves in the spirit of the present day community that distinguishes Guimarães. It will be set up with the view to being a tourist attraction, complimenting the existing attractions whilst taking advantage of the use of information technology and more innovative communication methods. This new facility will be housed in the former plastics factory Patria, located on Conde Magarida Avenue.
